JDRF Walk To Cure Diabetes

Yippee!! I'm doing a diabetes walk! I'm very excited! Info is below:

Hello friends, family, and fellow D-bloggers, (original content edited for this website)

We are writing you today to let you know we will be participating in our local JDRF Walk To Cure Diabetes Event this year. As most of you know, I (Windy) have been battling Type 1 Diabetes for almost 20 years now. I've been hospitalized numerous times, taken thousands of insulin shots and endured to date about 29,200 finger pricks to test my blood sugar ( 7,300 days x 4 tests a day). Over the past couple years I've begun to see the very first signs of the long term complications I knew would someday come. I made a commitment at the beginning of 2008 to make this the year that I joined the millions of people who have been touched by this disease in finding a cure. I began by starting this personal blog called The Diabetic Domestic Diva where I journal about new technologies and daily struggles and triumphs of my diabetes and provide links to several other diabetic blogs and informative websites. Next, I joined a photography project that a bunch of diabetics from around the world participate in called Diabetes365 where we document living life with diabetes, one day at a time. Now, our family (YUP, even Gabe and Zoe) have committed to participate in a walk to help benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and you can help!

If you can make a donation On The JDRF Secured Website to help us reach our team goal by clicking HERE. All donations are tax deductible.

If you are unable to donate financially yourself we COMPLETELY understand. However, if you know of anyone who might like to support this cause or has been touched personally with diabetes, we would be grateful if you could forward this information to them!

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and help us fight one of the fast growing diseases in the United States. If you decide to donate (even $1) please let me know so we can send out a thank you!!

Our Deepest Love and Gratitude-

Windy, Justin, Gabriel and Zoe
