A Diabetic Spouse: Vlog

The other day I had a pretty intense low blood sugar dipping into the mid twenties. (I wasn't wearing my CGM at the time) Didn't really feel it coming on because I was busy being a busy bee. ;-) Anyways, here's a vlog about what it's like dealing with a psychotic diabetic wife from time to time. hee hee hee. My husband is so great!

This is the funniest thing I ever saw on my phone! I can't wait for the Braodway musical.
I think Neve Campbell could play windy and then Steve Buscemi for Justin.

:D

lol. I wish it was funny with my brother (He's been a type 1 since he was 13-he's now 39)- he tends to get very angry and often violent when he has an "episode".
Only once have I seen him be funny during an episode, and then he said he was going to go up to the top of a building and throw skittles off of the roof while yelling "TASTE THE RAINBOW!". :-D

Brie-

Thanks for your comment!

Yes, unfortunately, MOST of the time it is FAR from funny, sometimes even scary!! Justin has a knack for making me laugh, even when I'm low, and we thought we'd try to bring you some laughs from something that is usually a real downer!

I have heard that sometimes men can get an anger surge, and women can cry or get emotional. (Obviously we've seen that I sure do!!)

Hey you guys! It's so nice to see some familiar faces. Justin you are just as funny as ever. Thanks for the laugh. It feels so good and has started my day on a happy note. Happy Belated Birthday Windy! I sure do miss our birthday lunches at MiMi's.

Justin is hilarious! I love that I'm not the only one whose spouse laughs when I'm low & acting crazy. Mine has always done this. Then we both laugh more about it later. It's a good thing we can laugh about this stuff, isn't it?

I am glad I found you. I am the significant other of a diabetic. I have been with him for two years and he gets angry and somewhat violent during his nighttime lows. I have called EMS 6 times in the past year because I was unable to get him to drink juice and I am scared to death to use the glucagon. I was so upset yesterday because I called him and he was obviously getting low. I told him to get a candy bar or something and then he wouldn't answer my phones calls for 45 minutes. I was beside myself. He did call and said I had been right he was low...thank goodness he listened to me. But last night I said the unthinkable. "I wasn't sure I was cut out to be with a self centered diabetic-didn't he realize what his actions were doing to me?" He of course and rightfully so doesn't like me too much today. I do want to be with him and love him so very much..but need someplace to find some support and vent. Is this the right place? Can you refer me somewhere?
