I'm having some issues with my Mac Book Pro and sense a trip to the Mac store is coming for tomorrow. I tried to post my 10 Things list last night and Blogger wasn't working, so unfortunately I minimized the document (instead of saving it....dur.) and today my computer turned off without saving it.
My screen keeps randomly going to the log in screen and closing programs, so I won't be posting again till my computer is all better! Sorry! Very sad to miss this!

Major bummer hopefully the Genius will fix it fast for you.
I have been looking forever for someone with experience in dealing with diabites on a mission trip!!!! Can you tell me how you managed it? I am an insulin dependent diabetic, who has a heart for missions. After being diagnosed I lost hope of ever going on a mission trip
Sure! My mission trips were all to the Dominican Republic and also to Mexico. There was some refridgeration available where I went, but it was still a very impoverished place. You just need to check ahead with the mission/missionaries you will be working with and plan accordingly. As far as food goes... in that area... it was a lot of chicken and rice and beans.... carb heavy... but you just have to do your best to estimate. I figured that for the short term (13 days) running a little higher was better than being low all the time. Bring a lot of juice or glucose tabs. Stay hydrated and drink a ton of water (safe bottled or provided by missionary... NEVER drink their water unless the missionary says its ok!) Hope that helps!!! As a diabetic, I probably personally won't ever go to crazy remote areas of Africa... but there are a TON of places who need help. If you have ever read Sara Knick's blog..... she has traveled to Haiti for earthquake relief and did well and is also a Type 1. A CGM would also help you A LOT on a mission trip to stay in range.
Thank you very much!!! Your advice is very helpful!!! :)
